Episode 43,44,45 – The Hound of the Baskervilles (part 01-03)

In the first installment of our 3-part coverage of this 2-hour telefilm (!), Holmes and Watson journey into the heart of darkness (aka Dartmoor) to investigate the legendary spectral Hound of the Baskervilles. We also hear recollections from numerous cast and crew about the making of this very special (if slightly troubled) episode of the Granada series.

In part two of our Hound extravaganza, Luke and Gus explore and analyze the challenges of bringing this monstrous tale to the screen. Also, we discuss BrettCon, the second Potter and Potter Sherlockian auction, other Hound adaptations, and more! Plus, many fascinating listener telegrams!

In the conclusion of our 3-part coverage of the Hound of the Baskervilles, we present a long-form, uncensored, Sherlockian Conversation with all the members of the cast and crew we spoke with in Part 01. James Faulkner who played our villain Stapleton, William Ilkley who played the escaped convict Seldon, costume designer Kayt Turner, writer Trevor Bowen, actor Kristoffer Tabori who portrayed Sir Henry Baskerville, Alastair Duncan who played Dr. Mortimer and Fiona Gilles who portrayed the tragic character of Beryl Stapleton. 1. Hi guys,

Love these conversations! Your listeners must be totally enjoying your wonderful podcast–thank you all!
But I noticed none had yet asked this question, so I will.

When can we expect you to post “Episode 45 – The Hound of the Baskervilles (part 3)?”

    Yours,
    Justa

    1. Thanks, Justa! Part 3 is just about ready. We got busy at the last minute and decided to put out 1 and 2 without delay… but part 3 should be within a week or two. Thanks for checking in.

  2. Wow, again (3rd time is another charm worth waiting for) that was such a joy to listen to–well done!
Duncan’s comments on who Ted Hardwicke was to him is also so touching, thank you gents.
And may you three enjoy all the wonderful people and your times together at Brettcon!

  3. These podcasts are brilliant. I’m sure JB would have been moved to know that there would be such detailed appreciation of his work all these years later…that it lives on.
